The Cup offers young drivers an ideal platform for proving their talent and advancing themselves on the motorsport stage. Organized by Project 1 Drivetime and supported by BMW M, the championship boasts years of experience in the promotion of young talent. At the same time, the BMW M2 Cup offers ambitious drivers the chance to practice motorsport at the highest level and compete against powerful counterparties.
What’s more, the attractive event format is another plus. Six race weekends with a total of twelve Cup races will be staged – all within the DTM support programme. Points can be won by competitors in the overall, rookie and trophy classifications. By means of a centralized organization as well as allocation of the cars by a lottery, the series is able to emphasize its core values: the greatest possible equality of opportunity and transparency, as well as integrated advancement possibilities and an extensive training.
Participation provides starters with a wide range of possibilities. Along with the fight for the title, the opportunity of a BMW GT4 cockpit is a bonus for the best and in addition, drivers can raise their profile in view of the BMW Junior Team as well as further commitments in customer racing.
The first BMW M2 Cup event is scheduled for 2 to 4 July on the traditional Nürnberg city circuit – the Norisring. Races on the Lausitzring, the Nürburgring, the Red Bull Ring and at Assen and the Hockenheimring will follow.
Registration deadline for drivers is 15 April 2021. All further information about the Cup and the registration process can be found on the official website.
